Message Hi, 90 Z32, with Jim Wolf Upgraded CPU, speed chip, lots of other mods. ...ahem.. recently I had an alarm (really a disabling system with a keyed dongle in the dash) put in and everything working fine. But an hour after the installer left, it would not start. Mind you it ran fine, we started it several times perfectly while he was there, and even an hour later it still started once, but a few minutes after that...it would turn over but would not start up. I called immediately, and even though they took a ferry boat home and it was Sunday, they came back and worked hours on the car, but to no avail. What they did was in the relay block under the hood, they interrupted an orange wire to the Ignition relay, and a brown wire to the anti-theft relay. These were routed to the dash and the dongle-connect system (Ravelco). Even though we put it all back the way it was, the following problem now exists:
1. The engine will turn over fast but not start. You can smell gas. The fuel pump ramps up when you turn the key
2. We get 12 volts at the plug connector, but no spark from the plug when turning over the engine. Plug appears wet, so it apparently gets fuel but no spark
3. I removed the fuse panel (ugh) and tested all six or so relays on the back of it, and they are all ok.
4. I tested all the relays on the relay block under the hood, all ok.
5. There appears to be no volts at the ignition relay under the hood when the key is on. pins 1,2 do not show 12 volts, and 3,5 are also without voltage. Seems to me, they should.
6. As far as I know, there's nothing disturbed besides the two wires cut which are now re-spliced.
7. I found what appears to be an anti-theft box under passenger floorboard next to the CPU. It already had the smaller plug connector removed from it, but the larger one connected. (maybe they already had issues with it in the past?)
8. Working the key back and forth to disarm the anti-theft, if that is what this is, did not work.

AS of now, the car is DOA and I'm beside myself wondering if anyone knows what to do. The installer is no expert at this car, and is not further help, though he provided me with schematics, and other stuff.

What I would really appreciate is if anyone knows either how to proceed with this (any advice appreciated) or whom to call in the Seattle/Bellevue area who would be good and knowledgeable. I am willing to pay to have this fixed, but I cannot think who might know how! :) I love my z's. Have one 84 AE (sort of, it has the medals, the turbo, but the 15 inch wheels) and the 90 which is a fully built racing car in bright yellow and 482hp at rear wheels. I don't want to just start bugging the alarm company that would take a long time and it's doubtful they could even fix it. Besides it did work fine when they left, so it is possible it's not even related, but just precipitated by any disturbance. Ah carz. Please, if you know about this sort of thing, or can help me, I can offer rewards or just many thanks, whatever you want.

Bob
